The MET of the Month is a collection of inspirations about a particular topic. It started over five years ago as a project to renew the Metaphysical Committee of the Christian Science church in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Every member of the church was appointed to the Metaphysical Committee. The members joyfully accepted the challenge to pray about a specific topic each month, and, if they were willing, to share the inspiration with the rest of us.
So we all prayed and many of us shared, via email. Emails were sent to the MET chairman, who gathered, edited and sent the resulting bounty to the members.
And what bounty there was! The very first month our topic was Sunday school. Immediately our Sunday school, which had not had any pupils for years, bloomed with visitors, and very soon we had regular students. We were so grateful and more than willing to continue our MET of the Month. This was not only inspirational but fun!
The Met of the Month expanded as other folks asked to be included. It now goes out to twice as many as are in our membership – those interested in Wisconsin and several other states.
The topics are set up one year in advance. We have a general theme for the year and specific subjects each month. This year we are focusing on the Sermon on the Mount. Our year starts in June.
Come pray with us! To be included, simply email your inspiration about the monthly topic to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . If received by the end of the month, it will be included in the monthly collection. Do not worry about writing skills. I will lightly edit while still maintaining your intent and style.
We’d all love to hear from you,
