christian science churchMadison, WI—Raise your hand if you attend church once a year. Keep 'em raised if twice a year. How about once a month? And every week? Church attendance is often something people feel compelled to do—and guilty if they're not doing. But moving past any useless feelings of guilt, let's talk about what makes church meaningful to us, what makes church inclusive, and what makes us want to come to church—or stay away from it—in the first place.

Rather than balking at statistics of church decline, or wishing the demographics were more balanced, let's have a productive discussion about what we can do about it. As Gandhi said, let's "be the change we want to see." If church membership seems unimportant or marginal, let's talk about what would actually make it more substantial and worthwhile, and not just out of obligation. This discussion will take place on Thursday, December 1st at 6:30 PM. All of our discussions last approximately one hour and include some kind of free, fresh, homemade dessert. Please RSVP on Facebook.

The Christian Science Organization is a registered student organization comprised chiefly of University of Wisconsin-Madison students. The mission of the CSO is to support the daily spiritual needs of students on the UW Madison campus. It is an interfaith organization that welcomes any student, and at meetings we share passages from The Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.
