Christian Science nursing facility Beacon Haven—a safe haven and light in the storm

New Brighton, MN—You are invited to visit Beacon Haven, the newest Christian Science nursing facility, located in Minnesota.

Beacon Haven is the continuing fulfillment of the ministry of Christian Science nursing, which Mary Baker Eddy wove into the fabric of the Christian Science church in 1908 by adding the by-law Christian Science Nurse to the Church Manual (Article VII, Section 31).  It continues the rich legacy of Christian Science nursing in Minnesota which began with the Star of Bethlehem followed by Clifton House and our Visiting Christian Science Nurse services.  We realize that Christian Science nursing must be supplied to maintain the dignity and defense not only for our own spiritual well-being and growth, but for the continued growth of our cause and its ongoing blessing to the world.

Today, Beacon Haven is located on two acres of beautiful lakeshore property next to First Church of Christ, Scientist, New Brighton, MN.  The Board of Trustees initiated the design of every aspect of the building including its lovely lake, the foundation, walls, doors, windows, HVAC, roof, laundry and kitchen facilities, guest rooms, etc., with clear metaphysical studies and prayer.  As a result, every guest who has entered Beacon Haven has commented on its beauty and tangible spiritual radiancy.  Our first patient declared, “The moment I entered Beacon Haven I knew I would be healed.”  More recently, a four-year old who had visited Beacon Haven one time said to his mother, “I want to go to that healing place.”  Beacon Haven is fulfilling its mission, “To support proper care and an atmosphere expectant of healing through Christian Science nursing.”

Next time you are in the Twin Cities, consider a stay in our Rest and Study.  Christian Scientists who feel shut in during the winter could take a winter vacation here and join our Beacon Haven family.  The cost for Rest and study is $60 (breakfast only) to $80 (three meals) per day.

Take advantage of our light care rates.  Families who are providing care for a Christian Science family member and need a respite could consider bringing that family member to Beacon Haven for a few days or weeks.  Our light care rates are $100.00 per day for room and board, including up to two hours of Christian Science nursing care per day.  Simply call our Director of Christian Science Nursing to determine whether you or your loved one qualifies for this care and rate.

For individuals who require more extensive care, Beacon Haven is Medicare certified.
