national leadership councilCaledonia, WI—The National Leadership Council of DiscoveryBound announced that it has an open opportunity for a male Christian Scientist to serve as a mentor for an NLC teen living in Wisconsin. The NLC is a multi-year servant leadership program, dedicated to fostering spiritual growth, leadership qualities, and a service approach to life.

"NLC mentors serve as a role models for their teens, supporting them and helping them work toward multiple levels of the National Congressional Award," said Ali Osborne, NLC Program Coordinator. "They also support the teen’s deepening relationship to God, and understanding of the healing effectiveness of Christian Science."

Adult Christian Scientists serving as mentors must be local, over 25 years of age, same gender, and not a family member. Mentors have a one-year commitment to their teen and have the option of continuing in the role each successive year of the program. "The mentor is expected to participate in regular, monthly conversations with the teen to reflect upon, evaluate, and encourage progress in the program," said Osborne.
