A beam removed

A few years ago I was on our church’s lecture committee. We all wanted to have more love for our community even before the lecture took place, so we made a commitment to deeply pray for our community each day. We promised each other that we would jot down a few ideas from our prayers and share them at each lecture committee meeting.

I was happy to do this. However, at the next lecture meeting, I was the only one who had done this work and had anything to share. This happened again at the next lecture meeting. No one brought any ideas, because they had forgotten to pray for the community.
