bible lesson cover 201111IDEAS FROM THIS WEEK'S CHRISTIAN SCIENCE BIBLE LESSON

The December 4, 2011 Christian Science Bible Lesson is God the Only Cause and Creator.

“There is but one primal cause. Therefore there can be no effect from any other cause, and there can be no reality in aught which does not proceed from this great and only cause."

Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures (207:20-23)

  • Recognize that God is your only source of food, shelter, and employment, and acknowledge that good things for you are already at hand. When Jesus’ disciples based supply on human concepts and patterns, they could only see a limited supply of food. But Jesus understood that the spiritual laws of supply and demand are in perfect balance, and he fed a multitude. “And they did all eat, and were filled:” (Matthew 14:20)
  • Throughout the Bible it is emphasised that God is only creator. Even a slight acknowledgement that God created you as His perfect reflection improves your experience.
  • Christian Science teaches that nothing can influence health but God. Truth and Love speak to disease with authority. “...nothing shall be impossible unto you.” (Matthew 17:20) Check out section 4.

Every day, Christian Scientists around the world read and study the weekly Christian Science Bible Lesson for inspiration and healing.  Each week's Bible Lesson consists of carefully selected passages from the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy.  The same Bible Lesson is read at all Christian Science churches, and everyone is welcome to attend services.
