bible lesson cover 201111IDEAS FROM THIS WEEK'S CHRISTIAN SCIENCE BIBLE LESSON

The December 11, 2011 Christian Science Bible Lesson is God the Preserver of Man.

“The divine Mind that made man maintains His own image and likeness."

Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures (151:23-24)

  • Moral courage protects your family’s happiness and security. Esther saved her people from certain death by putting her own life on the line. She was willing to sacrifice her life for the greater good. “I will keep the commandments of my God. Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe:” (Psalms 119:115, 117)
  • Truth uncovers and destroys lies, hatred, and injustice. God is already at work, holding us safe and setting us free. Although we must grapple with the belief in these errors, God does the work.
  • Jesus was unaffected by pride, prejudice, or envy. “But he passing through the midst of them went his way,” (Luke 4:30) Check out section 6.

Every day, Christian Scientists around the world read and study the weekly Christian Science Bible Lesson for inspiration and healing.  Each week's Bible Lesson consists of carefully selected passages from the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy.  The same Bible Lesson is read at all Christian Science churches, and everyone is welcome to attend services.
